In 2001 a group of friends brought to life their vision of what a St. Lucian Party Band should be! St. Lucian Carnival would be forever transformed with the introduction of Just4Fun Carnival Band.

Roston Taylor, Paula James and Perry Mason built the foundation of the arguably the best Carnival band in St. Lucia. Just4Fun provided revellers with a party band concept which translated to a very exciting carnival experience. This became the glue of how this group operated and year over year they continued making it something special and memorable.

Just4Fun is widely credited with the revival of the Jouvert tradition to St. Lucian Mas in the early 2000s. The band branded with its extremely popular Blue Devils concept reenergised this event with strong support from Windward & Leeward Brewery. Within the carnival community the band has a reputation for being organized, professional, and highly responsible in handling the affairs of its sponsors.

With the carnival event in St. Lucia moving to July from the traditional February date, the growth and participation has been phenomenal. The event is now one of the biggest annual attractions for St. Lucia.

KEY EVENTS:
Just4Fun has achieved considerable success by promoting the following Diamond Branded Events;

Cooler Fete – This Fete introduced in 2005 at the then BMobile grounds became and instant hit with the party going public. “Bring your Cooler & Come” being the theme excited the St. Lucian public and has cemented its place on the calendar of events. This is the first Big Band Music Party of the season and showcases only local talent. Saamans Park at Choc, Castries is now home this hugely successful annual event.

Jab Jab Fete - (Blue Devils) on the eve of the Jouvert celebrations is the biggest event on the calendar with approximately 2000 party goers kicking off the Jouvert celebrations at the Gaiety on Rodney Bay annually. The Jouvert morning sees our revelers painted BLUE as we take over the city of Castries. This is a must do for the true carnival lover.

Unity Fete – Is collaboration with other BIG carnival bands and was introduced to pay tribute to one of the most powerful uniting personalities in St. Lucia Carnival – the late PERRY MASON. Perry’s personality was bigger than the carnival event he enjoyed the most. In 2010 this event will move to a new location to accommodate the size of partying crowd.

AND PERSONALITIES:

In 2007 the leadership baton was passed on the partnership of Andy and Veil. That year Just4Fun Carnival was branded “Unleashed”.

Andy Delmar – is a career financial service professional who currently leads the Retail, Wealth Management and Small Business sales unit for nine countries in one of the regions largest banks. His focus is on the reveller experience and financial management of the band.

Veil Tobiere - A seasoned carnival solider is the creative mastermind within the band. His experience in translating ideas into a memorable reveller event is second to none within the carnival business. He also works with a private events company where he is a founding member. His amazing energy level may just be the eighth wonder of the world.

Diane Henry – the hardest working lady of St. Lucian Carnival is another backbone of Just4Fun Carnival. Diane is veteran of the Carnival business and a founding member of the Just4Fun organisation with a huge focus on the annual portrayals of the band.

Juliana Day (Aunty Pinky) – A qualified educator with insight beyond her years is the guide which keeps the band on the path of achieving greater things year over year. A founding member of the Just4Fun organisation with the key focus of ensuring that all the pieces come together for this important event.

Annette Augustin – A founding member and a senior civil servant brings together the support services for the organisation. She has amazing eye for detail and in ensuring that all engines are go on carnival day.

Adrian Mason – brings the technical wizardry keeps the band sounding as most impressive on the road year after year. The quality of music on the road is essential and with our music partners we continue set the pace. Adrian is also a founding member of the Just4Fun organisation.

BAND MEETINGS:
Band meetings are held every Wednesday at the R.C. Boys Primary School, Castries starting at 5pm. This year meeting on May 26th and June 23rd will be done at a different venue. Band parties are usually held at our party home Indies Night Club at Rodney Bay unless stated otherwise.
